See how BHS is being recognized across the LA community

Sustainability Innovation Challenge

Our aquaponics team won first place and a $50,000 grant in the UCLA Sustainability Innovation Challenge for their proposal to build an aquaponics system at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. Once completed, the facility will yield tons of fresh fruits and vegetables to students. The produce will reach the students via the UCLA dining halls and the Student Activities Center Food Closet.

Community Champion Award

Riley Kuffner, founder and president of Bruin Home Solutions, received the LG Solar Community Champion award during halftime of a Lakers game this past March. This award was given monthly during the 2017-18 NBA season and recognizes individuals in the Los Angeles community that are advancing environmental conservation and sustainability. Big thanks to all of BHS’ student volunteers, advisors, sponsors, and partners that have made our work possible!
